The International Day of Older Persons is being celebrated all over the world on 1st October. It aims to raise awareness of the impact of an aging population and the need to ensure that people can grow old with dignity while continuing to participate in society as citizens with full rights. We the health care team (Departments of Medical Nursing, Geriatric Medicine, CNE & Research, College of Nursing), invite you for the Workshop on “Pearls of Fall Prevention”, which will be held at CNE Lecture hall, College of Nursing, CMC, Vellore, on 27th September 2018 from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm.
The aim is to equip participants with current knowledge and skills to provide safe, efficient and excellent nursing care to geriatric patients and their family members in the hospital as well as home setting specially in relation to fall prevention and management, which is often the reason for their morbidity and mortality.
Objective of the Workshop
Update on pearls of fall prevention in elder care at home and in hospital setting.
Topics include:
• Fall risk assessment
• Falls in hospital
• Implications of falls in hospital
• Post fall management
• Ergonomics
• Mobility and transfer
• OSCE stations
We request you to kindly sponsor registered nurses from your hospital to participate in this programme and give details on or before 22nd September 2018. Refreshment & lunch will be provided.
