The department has 266 beds spread across 9 wards, with Intensive care and Emergency services offering general, semi-private, and private in-patient services under the departments of General Paediatric Surgery, Medicine, Oncology, Nephrology, Rheumatology, Adolescent Medicine, Endocrine Respiratory and Infectious disease. Headed by Mrs. Mary Johnson, the
Department has Nine nurse managers, 5 tutors, 10 charge nurses,21 nurses in expanded/specialized roles, and 165 staff nurses.

Special Days:
World Kidney Day is observed on the 2nd Thursday of March every year.
World Autism Week: World Autism day is celebrated on April 2nd.
World Immunisation week: Celebrated from 24th to 30th April
World ORS Week: Observed on 29th July.
World Breast Feeding week: Observed in the month of August 1 st to 7th.
World Adolescent week: World Adolescent week is observed during the second week of November.

Training programs:
1. The Paediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life support courses are periodically conducted within the department for our Nurses and all our Nurses are trained in Paediatric Basic Life support and at least 250 nurses are trained in PALS.

2. Clinical Competency Training in Dialysis and transplantation to prepare nurses with
specialized knowledge and skills are conducted by experts.
3. Paediatric Intensive Care IAP modular training and Fellowship program: This may be upgraded with INC accreditation in the future.
