About the Workshop
Healing has been patronage of basic nursing care practice encompassing not only dressings and infection control but also promotion of therapeutic nutrition, mobility, psychological support, hygiene and comfort.

There is robust research evidence to inform many aspects of wound care, but only few patients receive evidence based wound care leading to unwarranted variation.

Using high quality evidence to underpin clinical practice will improve care and increase change of better outcomes for patients. Nurses working in the surgical, medical wards, emergency and burns unit must continually update their theoretical knowledge and clinical skills in the field of wound care.

This workshop is meant to be guide to provide nurses with the newer and recent information needed to care for patients with various types of wounds.

Objectives of the workshop: At the end of the workshop the participants will be able to

  • Review their knowledge on types on wound and its assessment.
  • Elaborate on the essence of nursing care in the management of different ulcers and wounds.
  • Appreciate the recent trends in wound care.
  • Describe complications of wounds and its prevention.
  • Demonstrate specific nursing skills in caring for patients with various
