The department has 214 bedspreads across 7 wards, a Dialysis unit, and a Renal transplant unit, offering general, semi-private, and private in-patient services under the departments of General Surgery, General Medicine, Geriatrics, Nephrology, Dermatology, and Neurology. Headed by Mrs.Ananda Ruby Jacob, the department has two nurse managers, 2 tutors, 8 charge nurses, 8 nurses in expanded/ specialized roles, and 152 staff nurses.

Training programs offered
Short Course in Peritoneal Dialysis is a one-month onsite program conducted by the department jointly with the departments of Nephrology and College of Nursing with the objective of training nurses to perform Peritoneal Dialysis with the required knowledge and competence, keeping with the highest standards. The course is endorsed by the International Society of Nephrology, the Indian Society of Nephrology, and the Peritoneal Dialysis Society of India. (Apply)
Clinical Competency Training in Dialysis is 3 months on a job training program to train and certify nurses working in the Dialysis unit, preparing them with specialized knowledge and skills.
The Nephrology Department is recognized as a Sister Renal Centre, an initiative of the International Society of Nephrology to offer need-based training for Doctors, Nurses, and Allied Health Professionals from other hospitals within the South East Asian Region.
