Medical Surgical Specialty Nursing VI comprises A ward, L ward, L ward Daycare & Haematology OPD. It is a 267 bedded state-of-the-art, a nine-story complex that caters to multiunit private patients inaugurated in the year 2007. Each floor has executive suites, and A/C single and double room facilities. There are 13 clinical areas including 6 bedded private ICU.
Services:
The department caters to the nursing needs of all the private patients of the hospital i.e., all the departments and units admit their patients in our department, and specialized services are rendered to hematology patients. Nurses are involved in various extended and expanded roles of nursing like:
• Stem cell transplant coordinator
• Chemotherapy nurse coordinator
• Haemophilia nurse coordinator
• Apheresis Nurse
• PICC Nurse
Training:
1. Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing:
The course was started in the year 2007. It offers comprehensive oncology training with rich clinical experience for a period of one year. A maximum of 10 students have enrolled for the course.
2. Fellowship in Haematology Nursing:
This course offers specialized one-year training in Haematology nursing, equipping them with advanced knowledge & assessment skills, patient workup, disease-specific nursing care, and stem cell transplant care.
3. Short course on Chemotherapy:
This is a biannual one-month course providing intense training on chemotherapy and related components. Nurses from the corporate, government sector and mission hospitals enroll to update themselves with the current trends.
4. Oncology Nursing training for nurses from Madhya Pradesh:
Staff nurses from government Hospitals in Madhya Pradesh undergo a three-month course in Oncology Nursing.
